What is the cook up?

The Cook Up at Sexton is an afterschool opportunity with local teaching artists from All of the Above Hip Hop Academy designed to:

• Help participants develop artistically in Beat Making, Rhyme Writing, Graffiti Art, Breaking or DJ'ing

• Socialize with students of similar interests

• Learn more about Hip Hop History/Culture

• Expand student's community and network

• Link students to resources that support academic, artistic, and personal goals

MEETS EVERY wednesday

Winter Start Date: Wednesday, January 29th, 2025

When: Every Wednesday through the remainder of the school year.

Time: 2:50 pm - 4:30 pm

Where: Sexton High School, exact room TBA before start date.

*Partnering with Lansing School District, The Lansing Promise, and AYO Griot Instructors
